Music has always been part of my story. I grew up in Roxbury, Massachusetts, a city rich in culture, rhythm, and legacy. Itâs where artists like New Edition and Bobby Brown rose to fame and where the presence of leaders like Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. could still be felt in the community. That environment shaped me. It showed me that expression has power, and passionâwhen pursued with purposeâcan change everything.
Our home was always filled with sound. From R&B and blues to jazz, hip-hop, and classic soul, music was the heartbeat of every moment. It wasnât just something we listened toâit was something we lived in. Albums like Songs in the Key of Life, Thriller, and Black Moses werenât just favorites. They were foundations. They taught me the art of storytelling through sound.
I was first introduced to technology in middle school. Learning how to use a computer opened the door to a whole new world. While some were crate digging in record shops, I was exploring Napster, LimeWire, and message boards, searching for music others hadnât heard yet. I built a digital library from scratch, not just collecting songs but curating feelings.
Naturally, I became the go-to DJ for family cookouts, reunions, and celebrations. I wasnât just playing tracks. I was building a vibe. Whether it was a throwback classic or a new hit, I found joy in blending sounds that brought people together. I realized the power music had to heal, connect, and transform a room. And more importantly, I realized this was a gift I had been entrusted with.
Over time, my vision expanded. I donât just want to play musicâI want to shape culture. I dream of working with major brands to create unforgettable experiences at product launches, store openings, festivals, and curated events. I want HERSTORY to be more than a name. I want it to be a signal. When people hear HERSTORY, they should know itâs going to be a good time, a safe space, and a whole vibe.
My purpose is more than entertainment. Itâs atmosphere. Itâs storytelling with intention. HERSTORY is my way of showing up for others through music and creating spaces where joy, connection, and excellence live together.
